Let's take a closer look at the BET⭐ Awards

The 18th edition of the BET (pronounced as B.. E.. T) Awards took place weeks ago. It will be cool to know at least a bit about the awards.

The BET Awards was established in 2001 by Black Entertainment Television Network (That's where the acronym is gotten from) to celebrate the achievement of the American black community in music, acting, sports and every other entertainment field.

The trophy was designed by Carlos Rodriguez, an artist and sculptor (he's an American don't mind his name)

OutKast was the first to be presented a BET Award at the 2001 ceremony.

The awards are given annually in a ceremony. At the ceremonies, several invited artistes performs and most of the black celebrities all over the world are also present to witness and celebrate with the winners.

The BET Awards is meant for a good reason; to celebrate the success of blacks... And not for silly reasons like wearing unappropriate dresses to the event.
