  • FIFA reportedly asked broadcasters to stop gleering at "hot women"


    If you've been following this year's world cup, you'll notice a trend, broadcasters always feature as many female fans as possible during reaction shot in trted he middle of matches or crowd pan during half time.
    FIFA, taking a strong stance against sexism has publicly condemned these broadcasters who always focus on "hot women" rather than players and coaches.
    "We've done it with individual broadcasters. We've done it with our host broadcast services" said FIFA diversity chief Federico Addiechi, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Addiechi said that FIFA has found over30 cases of the "hot female fan" reliance after monitoring all the matches according to The Irish Examiner. He also said though they are yet to do something, they would "take action against things that are wrong".
    This year's world cup hosted throughout Russia has been met with unexpectedly high sexism and sexual harassment for female fans and reporters. Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) reported that there have been about 30 cases of female reporter being harassed sexually including being kissed randomly by male fans according to ESPN.
    Federico said FIFA and the Russian Police are working together to identify men harassing these female reporters and fans.
